Europe is the dominant continent since the 50% of the 32 best teams in the world (17) belong to the old continent. Meanwhile, America features 8 representatives among the 32 first places. Africa (4) Y Asia (3) close the list. No team from Oceania would access the World Cup with this qualification system.
As we can see, despite the European dominance both in the general list and in the top 10, the truth is that combined as mythical and historical as Brazil Y Argentina they are in the head. In fact, the canarinha continues to be the leader of the best soccer teams in the world.
This classification, far from what many may think, is more important than it may seem. The FIFA uses it to define who will be the seeded each time a final phase of the world Cup or one Euro, something very important for a certain team to avoid the 'bogeymen' in the draw. In this way, your path to the final rounds may be easier.
