  19. AMÉRICA SA (COLOMBIA) 220,00
  20. MANCHESTER UNITED (ENGLAND) 220,00

Analyzing the list, the great equality between the teams of America Y Europe. In fact, the European advantage is minimal because between the 20 best clubs of the 20th century, we find 11 from the old continent by 9 south americans.

The criterion that the IFFHS has continued to develop this classification is somewhat complicated. Regarding European competitions, the victories in the old European Cup (actual Champions League) add up 8 points, while the ties 4. Meanwhile, the Fairs Cup and UEFA Cup (Europa League) add up 6 for victory and 3 by tie. By last, the Recopa, serves to obtain 5 points for victory and 2,5 by tie.

The IFFHS decided to make a separate classification of Europe and America due to the great difficulty in matching the different competitions. As a significant fact add that in this classification, intercontinental competitions were not taken into account.
