Marcelo Salas eis considered one of the best Chilean soccer players of all times, and is considered one of the best south american players of his generation. Salas began his career at the University of Chile in the middle of the decade of 1990, where he quickly established himself as one of the best young players in Chile.

Then he signed for the Italian club of the Lazio in 1996, where he spent four seasons and won a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana. Later he played in clubs like Juventus Y River Plate, before returning to Chile to finish his career at Club Universidad de Chile. Salas also represented the Chilean team of 1994 a 2007, playing more than 70 matches and scoring 37 goals.

Marcelo Salas earned the nickname “The matador” very soon in its beginnings at the University of Chile. A nickname, that came in handy for his ability to score goals, particularly in big matches. Carrera

The Chilean striker began his professional career at the University of Chile where he debuted the 10 April 1993. He quickly established himself as one of the best young players in Chile.. Framework 35 goals in 43 appearances for the club and won the Chilean league title in 1996. This earned him to be transferred to the River Plate Argentine in 1996. with the t-shirt River disputed 116 matches and marked 48 goals in 2 different stages between 1996 Y 1998 Y 2003-05.

In 1998 signed for Lazio where he stayed until 2001 disputing 117 matches and marking 49 goals. In Italy, Marcelo Salas quickly established himself as a key player for Lazio, regularly scoring goals and helping the club win the Coppa Italia in 1997-98 and the Italian Super Cup in 1998.

In 2001, Salas transferred to Juventus, where he had a successful season, helping the club win the Serie A title and the Italian Super Cup. He also continued to score regularly, finding the net 24 times in 53 appearances.

After two seasons after returning to River Plate in Argentina, Salas returned to Chile to finish his career with Club Universidad de Chile in 2005. He retired from professional soccer in 2010.

Along with his career at the Club, Salas also had a great impact on the international scene. He represented the Chilean team of 1993 a 2007, playing more than 70 matches and scoring 37 goals. represented Chile in France 1998 where he marked 4 goals and in the Copa América of 1995 Y 1999.
